Swedish Match is growing and needs more resources to meet their increasing demands. They are now looking for a laboratory technician to support product developers in their daily work. The role is crucial for the entire group and involves a wide variety of tasks. You will be a key person helping the product development team to effectively drive their projects forward.

About the role

As a laboratory technician at Swedish Match, you will support the R&D team in their daily work by preparing samples for experiments, such as bases for snus or nicotine pouches, as well as handling these and other samples. You will perform detailed chemical analyses and tests using our analytical methods and laboratory instruments.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining laboratory materials and procedures, planning and structuring the purchase of materials, keeping track of inventory levels, and ensuring that the laboratory is well-stocked and organized. You will work closely with research engineers and assist them in mixing ingredients, preparing solutions, testing new recipes, and documenting experimental results. Ensuring that all ingredients and chemicals are handled correctly and in accordance with applicable safety regulations is also an important part of the role.

About you

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in natural sciences or equivalent work experience. Experience in laboratory work within food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or similar industries is an advantage, as well as a good understanding of product composition and calculations related to recipes.

It is crucial that you follow safety procedures when handling chemicals, especially since you will be working with nicotine and other potentially hazardous substances. You work analytically and systematically and have an eye for detail, both in laboratory work and documentation. You need to be proficient in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.

As a person, you enjoy supporting and helping others, are resilient under stress, and have the ability to prioritize tasks. Initiative, problem-solving skills, and a structured approach are important qualities, as well as good communication skills to ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals and that projects meet their set objectives.
